Outback Jack's Bean/Barley Soup Mix Preparation
Here's all you do: In a large pot add 1 (15oz) can beef broth, 4 cups water, a 15oz can of drained white beans, a 15oz can of drained mixed vegetables (or 12oz frozen mixed vegetables), and a 15oz can of tomato sauce (or diced tomatoes). Whisk in soup mix and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook uncovered for 40 minutes. Let cool to thicken for 15 minutes.
Make it "heartier" by adding 8oz sautéed ground beef or turkey, or browned and cooked stewing beef.
Make it spicier by adding a touch of our Mexican HURCHA seasoning (see on this site).
Ingredients: Barley, pre-cooked pinto bean flakes, chicken base (containing modified food starch, salt, sugar, soy protein, dehydrated garlic and onion and chicken skin), paprika, herbs & spices and natural smoke flavor. No MSG.
